♥ Carly Rae Jepsen – “Good Time” Music Video Inspired Make-up & Hair ♥

Carly Rae Jepsen has amazing style and always pulls her look and outfits off with ease, and I really loved her look in one of her most recent music videos, so I thought I would give it a bash and show you my inspired look. You probably already have seen/heard this song but if not click below for the video.

Her look in the video is trendy, unique and easy going (I would say). I am only going to show you how to recreate her hair and make-up because I could do her outfit justice! So shall I start? …

Face
Today I am not using a primer, just so it gives the foundation a different feel. So I am jumping straight into concealer. MAC – Pro Longwear Concealer – NW15 I am covering any blemishes or problem areas. I then use Collection 2000 – Lasting Perfection Concealer to cover dark lines underneath my eyes. I am doing this because Carly has very clear looking skin! (Jealous!)

Carly doesn't look like she has much foundation on therefore I am using a light foundation which is buildable if you need more coverage. I am using MAC - Face and Body Foundation with a Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

Then Carly skin looks matte (e.g not shiny/oily), so I am using MAC - Blot Powder with a large fluffy brush and I am buffing it in to my skin.

I wasn't to sure what Carly had on her cheeks, it defiantly looks like she has a light blush on - I was stuck between Benefit - Dandelion Blush and MAC - CremeBlend Blush - LadyBlush. I decided for MAC - CremeBlend Blush - LadyBlush I just felt it went better but if your re-creating this look then you can decide!

I loved the looks of Carly's cheekbones - she has a really nice golden highlight on. Using my fingers I am blending Jemma Kidd – Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Crème – Iced Gold, into my cheekbones.

 Eyes
Using my favourite eye primer Urban Decay - Eye Shadow Primer Potion, blend this across your lids and under your eyes. This will help keep any of your eye products on for a longer time and cover any dis-colouration and veins.

I am applying a light gray eyeshadow from Elf - 32 Piece Eye Shadow (all eye shadows used are from this palette), and applying it all over my lid. Then used a darker gray I am putting it into my crease using an angled brush then with a fluffy buffing brush (Mac #224) I am blending out any harsh lines and making it look more natural...(since gray is such a natural colour! lol). Using the same darker gray using an angled brush I am putting this on my lower lash line, I am using a eyeshadow instead of eye liner because in the photo it looks like a soft line not a harsh line which a liner would create! And with a light creamy colour I am highlighting my inner corner and my brow bone.

I could tell that Carly had eye liner on, but I wasn't sure what kind of eye liner, so I thought what would I use on her and first thing I thought was MAC - FluidLine in Blacktrack. So using an angled brush I am following my lash line and making a think to medium line (depends on your eye shape).

I am then curling my eyelashes and coating them with NYC – High Definition Volume Mascara – Carbon. Carly proberly would have had false eyelashes on so that they are more noticeable on camera but since I don't have any to hand and my eyelashes are naturally long I am going without!

Carly has a natural lip colour and I couldn't decide if she has lipstick on the had a glossy finish or just lipgloss or both! So I thought let's just do both! I am using a limited edition lipstick but there are many colours similar. I an applying MAC - Innocence Beware! Straight from the tube the applying a little bit of Clinque - Long Last Glosswear - Air Kiss, I am only using a little bit as the finish of the lipstick is a cremesheen so its already glossy!

Hair

First I washed my hair then dried it (Products Below), then I split my hair into sections and started curling my hair with my Instyler 3 in 1 Rotating Styling System, once I have curled all of my hair- using the comb the styling system came with I am brushing the curls out to create loose curls. I then set the curls using my Wella - Silvikrin Hairspray. And it's that simple!
