Counting Till Christmas // Christmas Nail Art

Normally at this time of year I feel Festive and looking forward to Christmas but this year I am feeling as feastive as ever and really am counting the days down to all the exciting events this month. So since I'm feeling so festive I thought I would translate it to my nails! What I have done is very similar to what I did last year. I have been practicing nail art a little bit more and this just makes me feel happy when I look at my nails. This is however surprisingly simple once you get the hang  of it. I've done something different on each nail so if one of the designs are to complex you could always pick one of the more simpler designs and do that on all your nails! So let's get cracking...

First I'm going to start with clean nails and I'm going to file them into the shape I want, I have done my a bit shorter than usual because I stuggle to get my contact lens out with longer nails! I then apply a base coat to protect my nails and this will also make my nails stronger and make the nail polish go on better. The base coat I'm using is Revlon - Multi-Care Base Coat and Top Coat.

Christmas Tree -

For most of us a Christmas Tree is quite important and well most defiantly decorate our living rooms and bedrooms with Christmas trees so I had to do a Tree. You could do this in lots of different ways like actually draw the tree on your nail but I decided to do the simple version as I did do my nails when I was tight for time!

I used OPI - Did it on 'Em from the Nicki Minaj collection as my base colour. This is the only true green I have as its not really a colour I would normally wear I did have a look in boots for a Christmas tree green but there was none! I the. Used Barry M - Gold Glitter as tinsel (using the brush it comes with) and then I used a dotting tool to put red bobles on with China Glaze - Red Satin.

Snowman -

As little kids we've all proberly made a snowman that you'll always rembember and if you can bear the cold and can be bothered spending time making one. It can be a fun snow day activity. I started my snow man with a few coats of Maybelline - Winter Baby (good name for this time of year!) this is quite sheer so I used about 3-4 coats to et it opaque. For his buttons I used a small dotting tool with Barry M - Black and for his scarf I used OPI -  Did it on 'Em and China Glaze - Red Satin this a dotting tool but it was straight and pointed which was perfect for creating stripes!

Santa -

For Santa you have to start with his red coat - I used China Glaze - Red Satin. For his belt and buttons on his coat I used Barry M - Black and a dotting tool, and for the fluffy trimming I used Maybelline - Winter Baby, again I used quite a few coat not just because I kept smuging it! Seriously I smudged it about four times! For the finishing touch on his belt I used Barry M - Gold Glitter.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer -

We all know Rudolph is the most famous Raindeer of all, so I had to represent him! This is actually really easy even though I messed his month up - I have a large dog that things it the size of a chliis and likes to sit on your knee even though she's bigger than my knee! For the base Leighton Denny's - Supermodel is the perfect colour! For his red nose I used China Glaze - Red Satin and for his wanky mouth I used Barry M - Black.

Snowing -

We all secretly hope for a white Christmas even though it makes life generally very difficult. But it's just Christmas if you can get some where easily right?!? For the dark nights sky I uses Elf - Dark Navy and for the falling snow I used a dotting tool and Maybellines - Winter Baby.

Once there done I would wait about five - ten minutes for them to dry by themselves as your top coat can smoge them a bit. Once you think there mostly dry then go over with a top coat. My favourite is Seche Vite - Fast Drying Top Coat which I finally dry after. About a minute of putting the top coat on.

To go along with my Christmas series Counting Till Christmas is is currently 3 weeks or 21 sleeps until Christmas! It does sound quite far away but these posts will fly by and before we know it I'll be posting my what I got for Christmas and it will be over! I hope you enjoyed this festive themed post! Also sorry that this is being posted on Thursday instead of Wednesday I had trouble with my internet last night and today we have a full blown storm! Fingers crossed my power doesn't go out!

Are you in the festive sprits?

Autumn Nails // My Favourite Autumn Nail Polishes

L-R // Essie - Bahama Mama, Leighton Denny - Supermodel, Barry M - Raspberry, Leighton Denny - Maroon Me Knot, OPI - Grape...Set...Match, China Glaze - Merry Berry,

It's that time of the year that the weather is getting colder and all our colourful clothing and accessories are being put away and our darker clothing is coming out along with our chunky knit jumpers, big cosy scarves and of course all types of boots. Along with that we tend to change our look with it including our hair, make-up and of course nails - today I am going to share with you some of my favourite autumn nail polishes, that I've gravitating to recently.
Essie - Bahama Mama -

This has to be one of my all time favourite nail polishes, it is such a gorgeous colour and I always get complements when I wear it - and when that happens you know its a good one! It's kind of in the middle of a red and a purple but it is the most gorgeous colour and definitely recommend it!

Leighton Denny - Supermodel -

This is one that I've never really had a chance to wear because it normally lives at my sisters house as she thinks why do I need to get nail polish when Becki has about five jars of nail polish - which is true but this is definitely her favourite and when its on her nails, I really like it!

Barry M - Raspberry -

As you can probably tell by the name this is definitely a shade that resembles the colouring of a raspberry. It's a gorgeous red but it is too bright, it's quite toned down making it perfect for autumn.

Leighton Denny - Maroon Me Knot -

If you look at the bottom picture for this post you may think the swatch for this nail polish is a bit messed up but it's not and I shall explain why. This formula has a matte finish which not many of my nail polishes have, so I put a top coat over the top half of the swatch and not the bottom so you get a total idea how you can wear it. I will also add this is the only one with a top coat on it none of the other swatches have a top coat on them! Anyway this is just one of the best purples I own and I currently have it on my nails now!

OPI - Grape...Set...Match -

This was a limited edition nail polish from OPI from the Serena Williams collection but you should still be able to get from Amazon. It is a really nice dark purple with purple glitter and shimmer running trough it - I have to warn you this is a nightmare to get of so be prepared!

China Glaze - Merry Berry -

As you can probably tell by the name I got this at Christmas time last year but I personally think it looks more of a autumn colour than a Christmas colour but it works for both really. If you compare all the swatches it looks like Bahama Mama and Raspberry mixed together which of course turns out a beautiful colour!

What's your favourite Autumn Nail Polish?

Pink Nails

You may know that I'm a total girly girl, Iove everything girly. I especially love the colour pink both pastel pinks and bright in your face pinks. Since I'm always wearing nail polish and it's normally on the pink tones I thought I would pick out my five favourite pinks and show them to you. It was actually quite hard to pick my five favourite but these are the five colours I've narrowed it down to!

Leighton Denny - Plush Pink

The is a bright pink but its not neon as I'm not a fan of neon colours. This colour would suit all skin tones but I would defiantly say it looks great with a tan. The formula is really nice and easy to work with, it is just a nice solid bright pink.

Barry M - Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Dragon Fruit

When I first got this I really didn't like it and said I wasn't going to use it again but after hearing all the positive things everyone was saying I tried it again and I do like it! The formula is really unique and gel like an for the price is really good. I also have to say its a gorgeous shade of pink.

OPI - I'm All Ears

This is a gorgeous colour it's very girly and sparkly. It is from the original Minnie Mouse collection (not the Couture Minnie Mouse collection) hence the name I'm all ears! If you want something sparkly but no glittery this is your best bet. It might be a bit hard to find but Amazon should have it!

Essie - Off The Shoulder

Again I think this is a discounted colour if I'm correct. But I really wanted to include it because I do wear it all the time. The brush has rounded edges and is quite think unlike the usual square and thin brush which I hate! As usual Essie nail polishes are great quality and the formula lasts so well on my nails!

Essie - Fiji

You've heard me talk about this a lot recently so I'm not going to go into this to much but I have to say it is the best all around shade. If you want to know more I will link you to my post about it here.

Now that was in no particular order, but if I had to pick a favourite I would defiantly have to be Essie - Fiji. I have done a separate post on this nail polish which I will link here - but it's a pale pink that goes with everything and I always fall back on it!

Do you like any of the nail polishes featured?

Collective Beauty Haul // Real Techniques, Maybelline, Bioderma & More...

Please don’t judge me – I do have another collective haul and I do feel extremely guilty that I have done some beauty shopping! I have actually decided I am going to stop spending and stop getting beauty products. Products are overflowing from there drawers and baskets and that’s always a sign where you should just stand back and save you money.  It would be fair to say I have been on a little bit of a spree of getting beauty products. I did have to get some stuff for my professional make-up kit which makes me feel a bit better but most of it is really just for me! Opps…
Don’t you just love (and hate) when Boots or Superdrug have amazing offers on that you just can’t say no to like 3 for 2 – I mean I see a 3 for 2 sign and my knees go weak and I get all excited! Don’t you just love a good old saving! Well Superdrug had 3 for 2 and so I had to go and get a few essentials obviously! In Superdrug I re-purchased my favourite drug store foundation which is the Rimmel – Lasting Match Perfection Foundation, this is just gorgeous on the skin and it lasts really well thought out the day.  I also got two nail polishes from Barry M, now I was looking forward to trying these but they don’t last well on the nails especially the gelly nail polish! I am wondering if it is a manufacture problem because Boots weren’t selling Barry M nail polishes when I bought this because “they don’t meet our high standards!” But of course I paid no attention to this and when you can’t have something you want it more so I had to get my hands on them! I got Barry M – Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Dragon Fruit (which lasted just over a day! I was not very happy!) I also got Barry M – Textured Nail Effects in Kingsland Road.

Has anyone else noticed that boots has started stocking The Vintage Cosmetic Company!? I have heard of them before but never really tried anything, I spotted there false eyelashes and they looked amazing and since of course boots had 3 for 2 on eyelashes I had to get three pairs (saving £6!!) I got Connie, Gracie and Nancy and then I got another pair of Gracie. I am going to go and get more for my pro kit because they go on nice and look amazing and they are only £6! I also got two tubes of Duo Eyelash Adhesive I won’t bore you with the story on why I got two! I’ve also been loving the TRESemme – Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo, it’s amazing and doesn’t make your hair feel chalky. I got two cans because it was buy one get one free (yes another offer!) I also gladly fell into the hype of Bioderma – Sensibio Cleansing Water, I love this stuff – it leaves your skin feeling amazing. If you read my first The Weekly Post #1 // Skin Problems – then you will know I was having problems with my skin and I finally found a spot treatment that works for me! That is the Clean and Clear – Advantage Spot Treatment Gel.
And of course I bought more make-up… I bought another Maybelline – Mega Plush Mascara because it’s so amazing and I wanted one for my kit! I also wanted a concealer palette for my kit so I am giving Costal Scents – Camouflage Palette which so far I really like! I have been wanting to try the Rimmel – Wake Me Up foundation since I love my other foundation so much so I just went ahead and got it. It was also 3 for 2 on Rimmel nail polishes, so I got the new Salon Pro polishes in the colours Peppermint, Ultra Violet and Cocktail Passion. I also went on a splurge with Real Technique Brushes! I have been waiting for their new Limited Edition Duo-Fibre brushes to come out and when I finally tracked them down I got two sets! I also got a stippling brush and an expert face brush. I also got a pair of silver studs and some hair ties from accessorize.
Well I hope you enjoyed this haul and it WILL be the last for a while! If you have any beauty products that you recently bought then let me know in the comments! Thanks for Reading!

To be honest nothing much has happened this month! It has been a quiet month preparing for Christmas, my birthday and my families new arrival! So this is going to be short and sweet!

I went to go and see Breaking Dawn pt2 the night it came out and well...it was amazing, I loved it and can't wait to see it again! Everything about it was amazing from the acting, settings, camera work and make-up, hair and costumes were all perfect and I can't say enough good things about it! I am sad that it is the last one but I hope they will make some more!

I have ever been much of a "book worm" in fact I sadly don't find much time to read, but I seen Elle Folwers video (AllThatGlitters21 on Youtube) on reading the first chapter of her and her sisters book Beneath the Glitter. I have slowly (very slowly) taken my time and am really enjoying reading it, if you like the kind of shows like gossip girl and want that kind of book then this is the one to go for!

I know this has been quite a short favourites post but I didn't have much to say!

Thanks for reading!
