Selena Gomez Inspired Make-Up Tutorial || KCA14

A few weeks ago the Kids Choice Awards took place in Los Angeles, and of course as I scanning photos of the orange carpet for make-up inspiration and even though Selena Gomez didn't walk the carpet she was there and she did pick up an award. I loved her make-up it was soft and dewy with gold eyeshadow and fluttery lashes along side a peachy pink cheek and lip. Here the products I used to recreate the look and how I did it...
Face -

Laura Mercier - Oil-Free Foundation Primer
Mac - Studio Sculpt Foundation
Benefit - High Beam Highlighter
Collection - Lasting Perfection Concealer
Mac - Prep & Prime Highlighter in Radiant Rose
Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Nars - Laguna Bronzer
Benefit - Hoola Bronzer
Benefit - Coralista Blush

Eyes -

Mac - Painterly Paint Pot
Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette - Half Baked e/s
Mac - Wedge & Charcoal Brown Eyeshadow
Soap & Glory - Smoulder Kohl in Cocoa Bean
Maybelline - The Falsies Black Drama Mascara
The Vintage Cosmetic Company - Gracie False Eyelashes

Brows -

Mac - Omega & Charcoal Brown Eyeshadow
Maybelline - Brow Drama in Dark Brown

Lips -

Mac - Plink! Lipstick
Nyx - Mega Shine Lipgloss in Nude Pink

Face - Selenas skin is very tanned and dewy, sadly I am not tanned but I have made my foundation look dewy but mixing some high beam into my foundation - now don't go crazy with this stuff, a little goes a long way! She also has completely flawless skin so I am faking that by using a medium to full coverage foundation which is studio sculpt. I am then concealing any problem area with my beloved Collection - Lasting Perfection Concealer. For under the eyes I am using two concealer so that I look really awake and so there is no discolouration. To set everything in place I am using a pressed powder but I am only use a little bit as I want to set the make-up but I want to keep the dewy effect. Selena doesn't have an intense contour but I defiantly want to add a bit to define my face so I am using Benefit - Hoola lightly along my cheekbones, temples and jawline. As Selena is looking very bronzed I am using Nars Laguna (which I recently review ) all around my face where I put the hoola and using whatever is left on my brush through the centre of my face to even the colour out. She has a muted coral pink on her cheeks but it defiantly has a sheen to it so I am using Benefit - Coralista which is the perfect blush with a bit more of high beam along my cheekbones and cupids bow to finish the look off.

Eyes- For a base I used Mac's Painterly Paint Pot, then using a mac #224 brush I used wedge as my transition colour in my crease. I used half baked e/s from urban decay 3/4 of the way across my lid and all around my eye. Selena defiantly went to town on the gold eyeshadow around the eye so don't be afraid just make sure to blend so it's not to harsh. You can't see Selena's eye make-up that well especially since she didn't walk the carpet but she defiantly had a darker colour in her outer crease. To darken the look I am using charcoal brown and blending it out. I am then put a thin line of brown pencil along my upper and lower lash line, not a lot but just enough to fill the space - I am only putting this about 3/4 of the way along my upper lash line as you can tell Selena doesn't have any liner in her inner corner. I am putting some mascara on my upper and lower lashes and then finishing the eyes of with some lashes that are full and gives the lashes both length and volume.

Brows - Selena has quite straight eyebrows and they're not overly groomed. I filled my eyebrows in with omega and then I used the darker colour charcoal brown on the outer part of my brows - using two colours makes it look more natural. I then sealed my brows in place with Maybelline - Brow Drama.

Lips - Selena kept her lips simple and glossy with just a light peachy pink lipstick - I used Plink! with is a seashell pink and its a lustre finish so its quite sheer. Her lips are also very glossy, I used Nyx mega shine lipgloss in nude pink which is really more of a peachy pink - which is the perfect colour for this look!

If you would like to see a photo of Selena at the kca's, there is one on my instagram (link in the sidebar or at bowsandbecki). I hope you enjoyed and if you would like me to re-create a specific look then you can comment below or tweet me @BowsBeautyB and I'll be happy to re-create! Thanks for Reading!

Nars - Laguna Bronzer || Review

Todays review is going to be on a cult classic and most beauty girls holy grail bronzer which is of course the Nars Laguna Bronzer - need I say more! This is one of those products that absolutely everybody raves about and I wanted to try it but at £27 I thought it was far to overpriced for a bronzer but once I finally took the plunge well safe to say I have used it everyday since and I am now going to rave about it!

This is by far the best all around bronzer that's on the market. It is a great colour for pale skin and tanned skin. I don't just use it on myself I also have one in my freelance kit and use it all the time on brides that want a natural bronzed look. Nars describe it as "Diffused powder with golden shimmer to create an all-over warmth and contour for the entire face. Bronzing Powder creates a natural looking glow which enhances or creates the look of tanned skin."

I like to use a fluffy brush and apply the product on my cheek bones, temples and lightly done the centre of my face. It gives you a bronzed healthy glow without looking orange! Famous for there sleek black packaging with white Nars logo on the front of the compacts. The compacts also have a mirror inside the compact with is a great size when your on the go. I will say the texture of the packaging is really smooth and soft but the material of it means that I gets dirty really easily and it is really difficult to clean. It is priced at £27.00 and is available from Nars and Space NK.

Pros: Great colour, Sleek slim packaging, works well with most skin colours including pale skin.

Cons: The material of the packaging gets very dirty looking and is hard to clean. Price - It is quite expensive for a bronzer but it really is worth it! Just depends how much your willing to spend.

As you can tell I absolutely love this bronzer and can't recommend it enough. Its so versatile as you don't just need to use it on your face its also a great colour for on your eyes if your wanting a bronzed eye look! Thanks for Reading

Have you tried Laguna? If so, do you love it?

Monthly Favourites | March

I haven't posted a monthly favourite post in quite a long while so of course that means that I have lots of products that I need to share with you because as a product junkie I think its only right for me to have a long list of current favourites and of course I need to share that all with you! Right?! This months favourites is a bit of a mixed bunch but surprise the majority of my favourites are makeup products! Shocking I know! Any way lets get into it...

Mac - Studio Sculpt Foundation | If you've read my blog for a while then you'll know I've used this foundation for years and stopped using it to try different foundations and then I re-found it and safe to say I still love it. It's a gel formulation and it is defiantly a medium to full coverage but more on the full. But you can always mixed it with different foundations or into your moisturiser and it doing this makes it more sheer and wearable for day to day wear.

Rimmel - Match Perfection Foundation | This is defiantly one of the best foundations on the market for the high-street and I would happily wear this on a daily basis but sadly this colour which is the lightest is too pink and warm for my skin. If it was more cool toned it would be perfect. But I've been mixing it into my studio sculpt and it gives me a great colour, coverage and overall look. I need to remember to pick my right shade up next time I'm in Boots!

Nars - Laguna Bronzer | I finally got this at the end of January (I know perfect time to get a bronzer, right!?) And I have too agree with everybody that has ever tried this - it really does deserve all the hype that's around it! Without being dramatic - its the best bronzer that has ever been! Enough said.

Laura Mercier - Matte Radiance Baked Powder in 01 Highlight | If your looking for a powder highlight that isn't to shimmery and overpowering then you'll love this! Its the perfect neutral shade - not to warm or cool toned, the perfect in-between shade. It is also a great all over the lid colour!

Mac - Powder Blush in Well Dressed & Pinch O'Peach | These separately are both gorgeous colour but I find Well Dressed can wash me out more than what I already am and Pinch O'Peach is a big to bright and matt for my liking - but mix them together and you get the perfect blush colour. It's seriously the only colour I have been wearing on my cheeks for months!

Mac - Painterly Paint Pot | If you want to own one base for your eyeshadow, that goes with all looks - for both day and night looks, then this is your base. Its a great colour and you can also use it by itself. I will say my eyeshadow has stayed on all day and it hasn't creased but I can go without a base on for my eyeshadow and they will last but it really depends  on the person - but your eyeshadow will stay on as I use them in my freelance kit and would be lost without them.

Mac - Chatterbox Lipstick | I have always been a nude lip kind of gal but as of the last two months I have been trying brighter colours - nothing to crazy but my favourite had been chatterbox from mac which is described on the mac website as a "bright red-pink" but I wouldn't agree with that. Its a mid toned pink not light but it also isn't a vivid neon shade. Its also very wearable for everyday if paired with very simple neutral make-up.

Nyx - Mega Shine Lipgloss in Nude Pink | As I said I was getting into brighter shades of lipstick, I have also been getting into lipgloss as its spring and I like a natural and quick look to do in the morning. Nyx really need help to pick the names of there glosses because this is by no far a nude pink much more of a light coral peach. With happens to be the best colour for this time of the year. Does anyone else think these glosses smell like bubblegum?

Models Own - Northern Lights Glitter Nail Polish | I tend to forget about this nail polish as it falls down to the bottom of my glitter nail polish jar. Its a nice colour as long as you have longer nails. It is also a nice colour for an accent nail.

Neutragena - Hand Cream | The past month I have had a massive problem with dry hands, the have been so sore and dry that the skin around my knuckles have been cracking and bleeding - not exactly ideal. All my usual hand cream have been to sore to use as they sting to much but as this has no fragrance its been perfect and its gotten my hand back to the way they should be!

TRESemme - Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo | All us long hair gals need to have a good dry shampoo in our life without it half our day would be trapped indoors washing, drying and styling our long Rapunzel like mane. But with it a quick few sprays and a few minutes later were good to go. This is by far the best one out there, I have tried a lot in my time of dry shampoos and this is the best one by far. I have used this since the begging of last summer and I constantly use it and need a new bottle.

If you read my last "What's on my Face" post you will know this year has been a bit of a crazy to say the least with my dad being really badly ill and then training to become a fully qualified make-up artist and then last Sunday (30th March) I finally qualified! It feels amazing to finally qualify, I've wanted it for such a long time and still has quite set in yet! I also just re-re-designed my blog, now that I know how to do it I am constantly wanting to change it up! What do you think? Do you like the new look? I also am going to start doing more make-up tutorials so if there is any looks you would like me to do then please send them to me either in the comments below or on twitter (@BowsBeautyB)!

What's your March favourites?
